Today saw the appearance of an update to LARPBooks look. A couple of months ago I previewed a bold, square black and orange logo. It met with a thoughtful reception and well considered comments. I gave those comments some thought and adjusted the logo. It is still brutally strong and hard to miss. If it picks up to many unfortunate connotations or remarks it will probably be changed. It’s always been my intention to develop LARPBook in public with the community in mind. That doesn’t mean responding to all points of view, neither does it mean ignoring them. My response then is to adjust and experiment until something very special emerges.
One thing I do not want to change is the choice of font for the site title. The new site title uses Nueva Std. I think it looks perfect for LARP. There is something both ancient and modern about it. It is also a font that is freely available so that fits in nicely with the open source goals of LARPBook.
This leaves us with a typography and logo update. Over time there will be review – also over time I hope to add more features. More importantly I’ll seek to add more content and to find more contributors. The main aim is always to improve the content of LARPBook.
