UK LARP Awards 2021 Categories

The categories for the UK Larp awards are now out. There has been some adjustment to account for very few physical larps running in 2020. Also new is the removal of the International Larp Category. Now larps outside of the UK can be nominated in any the “LARP” categories. Making 2021 the most international UK Larp awards to date.

All funnies in the list should be attribute to Larpcon.

The Categories

• Online Larp of the year – less than 10 players
• Online Larp of the year – 10 or more players
• Online interaction of the year – which Larp games and companies have interacted and engaged with their players or customers most interestingly this year
• “In person” Larp of the year – for face to face larps that ran in a covid safe manner (no different player size categories for in person larps this year)
• Award for Accessibility in Larp – going the extra mile to support people of varying mental and/or physical abilities and encouraging inclusivity
• Cancelled Larp of the Year – (Yeah, we know…However, the main aim of the UK Larp Awards is to help promote the hundreds of larps that normally run each year. This category is so we can have carry on publishing a “Long List” of larps as we’ve been doing recently, just before we publish the shortlists. )
• Larp Media of the Year – Blogs, Vlogs, Videos and Podcasts
• Larp Producer of the Year – Foam/Latex
• Larp Producer of the Year – Leather
• Larp Producer of the Year – Costume
• On-line Larp Retailer of the Year (nominations for Amazon and eBay will be ignored, nominations for Wish will be laughed at)
• Bard of the Year
• Event Crew Member of the Year
• Unsung Hero Award
• Life Time Achievement

The Photo Awards

As usual photographs are nominated via a Facebook group. In order to enter you’ll need to join the group. You can find it at https://www.facebook.com/groups/861825444670881

Here are the photo categories and entry rules. This is a direct quote from the group in order to make sure it is accurate

• Costume Created during Lockdown – bought and assembled or hand created from scratch all is fine.
• Prop or Set of the Year (we’ll accept cool Zoom backgrounds in this category too) Each submission must have been taken after 15th Feb 2020 and be accompanied by the following information:
• Category:
• Title:
• Where:
• When:
• Photographer:
• Costume worn by: (Only for Costume photos) Your picture won’t appear immediately. If it isn’t selling trainers, or designer shades, it will be approved when admin have a moment.

The winner of the People’s Choice Larp Award in each category will be the photo with the most likes at the time the public judging closes.

The 5 photos with the most “likes” at this time (no more than 1 per person per category) will form the shortlists for the Judges’ Choice awards.

Please check with the photographer/costume wearer before entering their photos.

The person entering the photo will be the winner, if you wish to appeal the ownership of any photo or who should win the prize then let us know.

There are no restrictions on where in the world the photo was taken or indeed the nationality of the photographer.

Submissions and “likes” closed at 11pm on the 19th February 2020, the winners of the People’s Choice award and the shortlists for the Judges Choice award will be announced shortly afterwards

By entering the competition you agree that we can print out a large copy of your image to be displayed at a future LarpCon, should your photo make it on to a shortlist.
