Larping.org is attempting an international census of LARPers. The aim is to try and gain an understanding of what the LARPing community actually is.
Ask a LARPer what they think of other larpers and you normally get a positive answer – some along the lines of friendly, helpful, clever, funny people from all walks of life. Which is great as anecdotal evidence goes, but what is the truth behind this?
That’s the point of the census to gain a better understanding. Personally I’m fascinated by the International aspect. How d LARPers in the the UK, U.S. or any other countries for that matter compare? We know there are differences in game styles and terminology but do the differences run deeper?

As an international larper, its hard to take a census which initially didn’t think my country existed, and which is structurally blind to my larping experience, seriously.
Fortunately, there will be a better one, designed by actual academics with a clue about these things, and a broad enough view to realise that larp comes in formats besides the US boffer campaign.
