The Scale of Silliness

This was taken from a Facebook conversation in LARP Organisers and Crew with Michelle McNeill, Aaron Vanek , Conor Tuohy and Rob Davies) – A question I am pondering. Is there a scale that is used that differentiates solemn and serious LARPs from lighter, fun, just for entertainment games? The sort of thing you’d use to quantify the difference between Schindler’s List and Ant Man?

Fantasy LARP Creations from Mark Cordory

I was lucky enough to meet Mark Cordory at a Twilight Realms LARP event earlier this year. The event ran in St Briavels Castle (built in 1205 as a hunting lodge for King John), and  Mark brought some of his creations for the crew to use. He has graciously allowed me to create these galleries.

Before the pictures a bit of background. Mark currently works as a freelance designer and maker for Film, TV, Theatre, Exhibitions and LRP. He formed Mythlore LRP in 1985 with an aim of creating the best looking LARP going. He’s worked on theme parks, pop videos and spent 2 years as head of department for props fabrication for Dr Who (BBC Wales).
